Hypnosis and its benefits

Hypnosis and its benefits
We have heard people often ask what hypnosis is and what its benefits are and I feel it is good to leave this presentation of this fantastic world of our mind.

What is Hypnosis?

To decompose the term, I begin by talking about hypnosis which is a state in which the person allows himself to relax and become half asleep, during which the therapist suggests emotional changes to the client. For the reader to have an example that elucidates this theme.

I suggest you imagine that you are in your favourite vacation spot, on those days of scorching sunshine, where you are only well in the shade.

The heat is so strong and when you look at the horizon you can see the heat waves. In the radio they speak of temperatures over 40º and the authorities’ advice to use a lot of sunscreen and to be very careful with the exposure to the ultraviolet rays besides drinking enough liquids.

It is precisely at this point that you realize that you have not had anything for two hours. You begin to feel dry mouth and you go to a bar in the immediate vicinity.

When you get there, they tell you that you only have fresh lemonade, when you look at the glass, you notice the lemon flesh mixed with the water with plenty of ice. The glass releases a water vapour so fresh  and you realize that you do not have the wallet with you but everything you want, everything you need at that moment is just a little of that divine liquid. Making a little apart; if you are salivating, congratulations. You just had a hypnosis experience.

What is it for?
Now it’s easy to explain. Briefly, what we do is to enhance the capacity that the human being already has to receive treatment and we make the client live this state of trance so that the whole scenario that he is imagining is so real, taking for himself decisions that change the behaviours he wants to correct.

Is Hypnosis an Art of the Occult?

No, it’s just science at your service.

In order for you to understand how it works, I must talk about the functioning of our brain, which has developed with the ability to make decisions quickly, without having to consciously make decisions.

Imagine that if you needed to decide when to inhale and exhale, surely you would not get anything else for the rest of your life, not even sleep. With this quick decision the brain lacks the ability to distinguish the imagination from reality.

So, imagining you to be in a highly dangerous situation and continue to emphasise your imagination in that direction, what will happen is: your brain will assume that you are actually going through this imaginary situation and trigger unconscious processes leading you to act or escape. You will feel your breathing quicken, perhaps the palms of your hand perspiring, the heartbeat accelerates, you are only imagining.

Hypnosis uses this ability to change the emotional state and guides the client to correct some behaviours that, although the client intends to correct or eliminate (conscious act) his unconscious becomes stronger and does not allow (unconscious act).

Hypnosis is thus a natural healing tool, when done by a competent professional, it frees the client from addictions, fears and provides well-being.

Who can do it?

Everyone can do hypnosis in the same way that everyone can imagine. Hypnosis is easy and for anyone.

Is there any danger in doing clinical hypnosis?

For those suffering from heart problems, it is essential to mention this fact to the professional. Since the brain does not distinguish imagination from reality, the professional must make the decision to accept the client and if she does, she will adapt the therapy to the client’s physical condition. For the remaining clients there are only advantages, as they will increase their well-being and see the World in a different and more positive way.
